Supporting the community
In the spirit of our guiding philosophy of Kyosei – living and working together for the common good – over the last 20 years, Canon Oceania has supported over 130 schools, not-for-profits and community groups with more than $648,000 in monetary and product support.
This year, the Canon Oceania Grants Program returns to support four more worthy organisations to further their impact. Our 2026 Grants program is now open and closes 12:00 midnight NZST Sunday 14 June.

Community Grant valued at NZ $5,000

Open to any group or organisation that has a positive impact on communities, cultural and societal causes. The winner will receive $2,500 cash, and Canon Product valued up to $2,500.

Education Grant valued at NZ $5,000

Open to any project run by a primary, secondary, or tertiary school/educational institution. The winner will receive $2,500 cash, and Canon Product valued up to $2,500.

Environment Grant valued at NZ $5,000

Open to any group or organisation that supports and protects the environmental sustainability of the community. The winner will receive $2,500 cash, and Canon Product valued up to $2,500.

Cultural Grant valued at NZ $5,000

Open to any group or organisation that supports the indigenous culture of Aotearoa, New Zealand. The winner will receive $2,500 cash, and Canon Product valued up to $2,500.

Submit your application today!
Applications open from 29 April and will close at 12:00 midnight NZST 14 June 2026. Continuing our process from last year, our judges will select the top three entries in each category, which will then go through to a public vote, so our wider Canon community can also have their say! The top three finalists will be selected based on the environmental and social merits of their organisation, as well as the importance of Canon technology in ensuring their initiatives success.

  • Oceania Grants 2026 Farm Image 1 New Zealand

    Ko Wai Au Trust – 2025 Community Grant Winner

    Ko Wai Au is a local community organisation with a vision to empower all rangatahi (young people) and their whānau (family) to have the skills, tools, and self-awareness to thrive independently. Their team provide practical support such as, CV creation, training pathways, budgeting and St John first aid courses to help rangatahi develop life skills, pride, and stronger community connections. Canon’s Grant will fund equipment to document their work through social media, aiming to attract more community support while providing participants with a platform to share feedback.

    Climate Action Campus Ōtautahi – 2025 Education Grant Winner

    Climate Action Campus Ōtautahi, is a climate education hub empowering tamariki and rangatahi to lead climate-positive futures through hands-on, hope-filled learning, grounded in mātauranga Māori, science, and community action. Working with over 60 schools and 20 partner organisations, they offer real-world experiences in habitat restoration, food systems, energy, biodiversity, and student-led projects. Canon’s Grant will fund equipment to record education programmes and community events. The footage will be uploaded to their website, extending the programme's reach beyond its current participants.

    Moths and Butterflies of New Zealand Trust – 2025 Environment Grant Winner

    The Moths and Butterflies of NZ Trust is a not-for-profit organisation dedicated to protecting Aotearoa’s butterfly and moth species. With 90% of our Lepidoptera species only found in New Zealand, their team’s mission is to ensure our local ecosystems support thriving moth and butterfly populations and aim to increase community awareness and engagement to support their work. The Grant would be used to support their ongoing kaupapa and the Butterfly Discovery Project, which combines DNA science and photography to uncover and document unidentified and endemic species.

    Deaf Way - 2025 Cultural Grant winner

    Deaf Way NZ is an Aotearoa based charity committed to creating awareness and information equity for the Deaf community. Turi Māori and Pasifika peoples are overrepresented in the Deaf community and face many barriers to accessing information and support. Their team create and teach free online courses, covering important topics such as budgeting, health, and self-advocacy. Their team also offer courses covering the Deaf and Turi Māori community to educate the people of Aotearoa and foster a more inclusive society. Deaf Way will use its Canon Grant to support the production of a new course on financial literacy, aimed at supporting Deaf and Turi Māori.
