THE NEED

Kristin is renowned for its progressive approach to education and has been a national leader in innovation and the performing arts and sporting programmes carry long standing reputations for excellence.  With an upcoming production of Les Misérables, Kristin required video capture technology that would be able to provide production grade video capture in low light conditions.  Canon provided a high-end Video Camera to capture the performance.  A relationship was born.  Kristin and Canon quickly developed an innovative photography and video facility that has become known as the Canon Cloud Suite.  Based on Canons breadth of technology and the trusted relationship we had developed Canon quickly expended the value offered to Kristin through the provision of flat panel screens, wide format printers and 3D print technologies.

In early 2016, Kristin School tendered for a new multi-functional device solution across its three campus’s. Canon was a natural fit, having developed such a solid relationship in recent years.  The testing phase, which included a side-by-side competitor shootout prior to selection was outstanding, especially the training offered by Canon staff.

THE CANON SOLUTION

To truly provide a full range of Canon products Canon undertook to provide a print solution that integrated seamlessly with their current print management software, PaperCut. After an extensive process Canon provided almost 50 new Multifunctional Printers, including a C700 light production device and finishing equipment.

IMPLEMENTATION

Implementation is a key element of any deployment and involves many groups from a customer’s network and infrastructure team, to project managers, marketing and communications personnel, logistics, delivery personnel, engineers, software specialists, customer trainers and an implementation review team.  Kristin had a small window in time, over the school holiday period, to deploy over 50 devices.  A key success factor was the early engagement of Canon’s project management team.  The project managers coordinated, in conjunction with Kristin key personnel, all aspects of the installation.

Key elements included:

  • A project management plan
  • Engineer Deployment
  • Delivery schedules
  • Software Specialist Deployment
  • Communications Collateral
  • Customer Trainer Deployment

At the time of implementation, Canon's Project Managers had worked closely with Kristin's ICTS Manager and Technical Manager to enable a seamless installation and transition. Training was offered to staff to bring them up to speed quickly and easily. Help posters were also installed for quick reference. Customer feedback from staff and students has been very positive since the installation. We look forward to our Partner Programme growing from strength to strength

Rachel Feather - KristinCT manager

Both Canon and Kristin School look forward to growing our relationship further.
