What kind of software is Canon XF Plugin for Final Cut Pro?

Content Id: 8200842800

Solution

This plugin was created to allow you to easily transfer the clips you recorded using the camcorder to Apple's Final Cut Pro non-linear editing system.

You can transfer clips to Final Cut Pro directly from a CF card inserted into a card reader connected to your computer. You can also connect the camcorder to the computer using a USB cable to import clips directly from the camcorder.

This plugin is compatible with Apple’s Final Cut Pro, version 6.0.3 or later*.

*The following usage restrictions will apply.

When ingesting clips that were recorded using the following video configurations: [1] 50 Mbps (4:2:2), 1280x720, 30P, [2] 50 Mbps (4:2:2), 1280x720, 25P or [3] 50 Mbps (4:2:2), 1280x720, 24P, the clips cannot be used in Final Cut Pro if Native is selected in the "Transcode to" ("Target Format") column. Select instead one of the ProRes422 options. (Confirmed as of July 2010.)
In the Log and Transfer window, relay clips (clips recorded spanning two or more CF cards) are not handled as one clip but are instead treated and ingested as separate, independent clips.
When ingesting clips with Native selected in the "Transcode to" ("Target Format") column, a name other than Canon will appear in the Compressor field. Nevertheless, the clips will be correctly ingested and you will be able to use them without any problem. (Confirmed as of July 2010.)
