Auckland, NEW ZEALAND - 9 October 2024: Canon New Zealand today launches imageFORCE, a new product line of multifunction printers that builds on Canon’s heritage and reputation as the market leader in printing technologies. Designed to meet the ever-evolving expectations of organisations in today’s modern workspaces, the new imageFORCE flagship range uses innovations such as machine learning Artificial Intelligence (AI) to support new levels of security and reliability.
“In today’s rapidly changing business world, organisations must embrace the latest technologies to boost growth, perform better and improve the working experience of their employees. With major technological advancements driving new ways of working, including cloud computing and AI, organisations are looking to embrace innovation to drive productivity,” Mike Murase, Senior Director, Sales and Support Group at Canon Oceania said.
Inheriting many of the high quality and performance credentials of Canon’s award-winning imageRUNNER ADVANCE DX series¹, the new imageFORCE range features:
Canon's new D² exposure technology employs a proprietary manufacturing process to deliver class leading 4800 dpi print resolution. The new D² exposure technology is Canon’s unique technology that utilises organic light emitting diodes (OLED), making it the first MFP on the market to deliver 4800 dpi resolution leading to better colour prints, improved smoothness, and enhanced text quality. This greatly enhances the quality of printed materials and expands creative opportunities for businesses, as different applications such as marketing brochures, flyers and posters, can be produced in-house.
Artificial Intelligence (AI) can bring a number of benefits to businesses, the new imageFORCE range employs algorithms derived from machine learning AI for advanced maintenance, to help boost reliability and work continuity. Device data is examined, and then machine learning leveraged to predict the life of parts and help warn of any potential failures in advance. This technology ensures that users are notified of risks of fault, greatly improving productivity and uptime to minimise business disruption.
In addition to advanced maintenance, security is also enhanced through machine learning. Security Environment Estimation Technology analyses the device’s network environment and recommends optimal security settings on the operation panel. The technology makes it easy to achieve a robust level of device security, ideal for companies without security expertise in-house. It is also possible to detect when changes occur in real time to the network, notifying the user accordingly and minimising security vulnerabilities due to missed settings.
It is critical for businesses to make smart decisions to become more sustainable in today’s world. A key area where organisations can improve environmental impact is by increasing the use of recycled materials, as well as carefully considering the environmental impact of the technology that they are using. In line with this, sustainability has been considered at every stage of the production cycle of the new imageFORCE range. For example, devices are constructed using recycled material with the first model to be released built with at least 30% recycled plastic.
The first imageFORCE model to be rolled out under this new range will be in mid to late Q4 2024, with more devices planned in 2025.
“As work styles and expectations evolve with technological advancements, multifunction devices must also adapt and deliver new value. As a result of these trends, and as our portfolio continues to evolve to meet business needs, we are launching imageFORCE a new platform of multifunction printers. The new flagship range includes a wealth of pioneering technologies and benefits to help organisations grow and be equipped for the future,” Mike Murase continued.
