- DIY projects with the Selphy Square QX10 Photo Printer - Clever Poppy

I don’t know about you, but I love any excuse to print from the thousands of beautiful family memories stored on my computer and phone. So I’ve teamed up with Canon to show you a super cute way to show your loved ones how much you care for them, by using the photos in handmade cards! The photos are a square shape, amazing quality, and they have a sticky back so it makes them super easy to use for any project. I loved seeing the kids get creative with cards for their friends, grandparents, and even sometimes me and my hubby (their little creations make me so happy!).
Now, more than ever is the perfect time to get creative and show your loved ones how much you care for them because we are seeing far less of them lately. Even though seeing your face will be enough for these special people, a gorgeous card will never go amiss. So raid your supply closet, print out your favourite photos, and get those creative juices flowing! To create alongside me, feel free to follow along with my Youtube video down below.
Print out your favourite photographs on the Canon Selphy Square QX10. To do this, just download the SELPHY Photo Layout App on your phone, jump onto the app, link it up wirelessly with your phone, and print them out then and there. This doesn’t take long, and you can do cool things like adjusting your photos to fit the frame, make photo collages, and print cute borders too!
My kids absolutely loved choosing photos and watching the printer print them on the spot. They had so much fun that now we have loads more photos to stick around the house!
Fold a piece of cardboard in half (or you could let your kids have a try if you think they’ve got the skills!).
Tip: You can use coloured paper and this worked well too
Stick your favourite photo onto the card. The good news is these photos have a sticky back, but you can also get creative with Washi tape.
Once the photograph is stuck down then you can let your kids go crazy (but not too crazy!) with the decorating. Meanwhile, you can relax with a glass of wine…or coffee! Some examples of ways to decorate these cards are to add drawings, collage cut-outs, stickers, and words they know how to spell. Harvey made a card for me and wrote ‘mum,’ isn’t that adorable?
These photos are also a great way to introduce your kids to the joys of journaling! If you add a photo to a blank page then this becomes a perfect starting block for your kids to create a story. This inevitably leads to lots of cute and creative results!
I hope you have the best time creating these cards for your loved ones and finding new and unique ways of decorating these cards. My kids and I are very excited to go around hand-delivering our cards to our loved ones! I can't wait to see the priceless look on my parent's faces as they receive cards from their grandkids. The card-making sure is fun, but seeing the smiles on the recipient’s faces truly is the icing on the cake.
