Canon Oceania has supported over 80 schools, not-for-profits, and community groups with over $450,000 in monetary and product support¹. The program helps individuals and organisations make a difference via three categories: Community, Education and Environment. Grant winners are chosen based on their initiatives' positive impact on their community. All our grant winners share one common, crucial detail: aiming to create a better world for future generations.
Canon imaging technology combined with the support we provide for student development programs enable us to create memorable experiences that help students to achieve more than they ever thought possible. Our partnership with the University of Otago has helped us support over 4,000 students. We do this through student development initiatives like The Social Impact Studio, Canon Internship Programme, Hands-On at Otago, and The University of Otago Student Leadership Award.
Canon Incorporated partnered with the Women's Rugby World Cup; our products and team were behind the scenes, supporting staff and fans alike. Our partnership also created a memorable experience for a student from Kristin School in New Zealand. Alongside a professional Rugby World Cup photographer, this student got to shoot from the sidelines, capturing incredible moments during the Women's Semi-Final match at Eden Park in Auckland².
In 2018, Canon introduced our annual 'Kyosei Day'. Together, we spend a paid day off contributing positively to our community. Through this volunteer day, we strive to enact fundamental changes for local schools and not-for-profit groups. Planting trees, tidying up school grounds, cleaning up our beaches, or working on special initiatives with our partner charities, Make-A-Wish and Ronald McDonald House – our team is excited to lend a hand.
