- EOS RP: The Pawfect Camera Upgrade!
-
I had the opportunity to test out Canon’s latest addition to their mirrorless range, the EOS RP. It is a 26-megapixel full frame, lightweight and compact camera, making it the perfect camera to take with you on your daily adventures. I took the camera on a journey with my dogs and this is my experience with it.
My first impression was that I was amazed at how light it was. I knew the EOS RP was light but being able to hold it in person shocked me. Weighing just under 500g, it motivated me to go and capture the world around me. Before trialling the EOS RP I didn’t want to take my camera around with me as I found it a little more inconvenient and heavy. With the EOS RP; instead I found myself taking it everywhere I went, trying out new ideas and capturing those precious moments. Being a pet photographer and having the capability to capture those candid moments and precious memories is incredible.
This was also my first time using a full frame mirrorless camera. Stepping up from a crop sensor to full frame opened up new opportunities, and being able to use my lenses to their potential inspired me to try out new ideas and expand my abilities. I was amazed at the colours I was able to capture and how well the EOS RP operated under low light.
When purchasing the EOS RP body, you're gifted an RF-EF/S Mount Adapter that allows you to use your EF and EF-S mount lenses freely on the EOS RP. This allowed me to utilise my favourite lenses that I am already comfortable using, but it also meant that I didn’t have to buy additional gear as I already had several lenses in my collection.
My experience with the EOS RP has only been positive and it’s exactly what I was looking for an upgrade to take my photography to the next level. If you are looking to upgrade to an entry level full frame mirrorless camera, this is the camera for you. It is the perfect choice to capture memories, explore opportunities and learn the ins and outs of a full frame mirrorless camera works.
